A Curriculum Focused on Real Clinical Challenges
A key feature of the program was its focus on the real-world challenges clinicians face in daily practice. The curriculum addressed highly relevant and actively discussed topics in contemporary implant dentistry, including:
-
Timing and strategies for implants in the esthetic zone
-
Clinical application of guided surgery and navigation systems
-
GBR in the esthetic zone
-
Decision-making criteria between sinus floor elevation and short implants
-
Soft tissue augmentation
-
Abutment connection design
-
Immediate loading protocols
-
Management of biological complications
Rather than simply introducing techniques, the course emphasized clinical decision-making principles, providing participants with practical frameworks applicable to everyday treatment planning.
World-Class Faculty and Evidence-Based Perspectives
The program was led by distinguished faculty members from the University of Zurich, including Prof. Ronald Jung and Prof. Daniel Thoma—renowned experts in implantology and prosthodontics.
Prof. Ronald Jung delivered a lecture centered on his clinical and scientific research regarding peri-implant soft tissue thickness. By integrating scientific evidence with clinical application, he highlighted the critical role of soft tissue management in long-term implant success, capturing strong interest from participants.

Hands-On Experience with Dentium’s Digital and Regenerative Solutions
The course extended beyond lectures to include comprehensive hands-on sessions. Participants performed guided implant placement using Dentium’s next-generation bright Implant system. In addition, they conducted GBR procedures in the esthetic zone utilizing Collagen Graft and OSTEON™ Xeno Collagen.
Through these sessions, clinicians experienced Dentium’s digital-based surgical workflow and Easy Bone Graft protocol firsthand, gaining structured insight into practical clinical implementation.
A separate hands-on session using porcine mandibles allowed participants to practice soft tissue management and grafting techniques, further strengthening their surgical understanding. The overall program was designed to ensure that participants could immediately apply what they learned in clinical practice.
Live Surgery Demonstration
On the second day, a live surgery session was conducted on an actual patient. Prof. Daniel Thoma performed implant placement and GBR in the esthetic zone, providing step-by-step explanations from case analysis to surgical execution.
Participants were able to observe the connection between preoperative planning and intraoperative decision-making in real time, gaining valuable insight into the clinician’s thought process and surgical strategy.
A Platform for Academic Exchange and Global Collaboration
The course featured active discussions and Q&A sessions throughout. Participants engaged with faculty members by presenting practical questions derived from their own clinical experiences, fostering meaningful academic exchange.
The University of Zurich noted that this program recorded the highest number of participants among similar courses held to date, underscoring both the academic quality of the program and its strong international interest.
